Identity Theft: A Review by Vanshika

IdentityTheftCoverHow would you feel if someone stole your identity? If they took complete credit for your hard work? If they steal your friends, your boyfriend, your life?

Hayley is going to have the best year in Bainbridge Secondary School. After years of careful planning, she’s ready to serve as student council president and editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. But just before the Ainsworth scholarship semi-finals someone creates a fake Facebook profile of Hayley and starts posting inappropriate photos and incriminating updates. Hayley thinks that Adam Scott (her frenemy) might have done this. It had to be the work of a highly skilled Photo shopper, as the detail is scary. The situation escalates until Hayley’s mother reveals some shocking information. Hayley isn’t an only child; she has a twin sister who was adopted by a different family. And that’s not all! Soon, Hayley discovers that her long-lost sister isn’t just playing a prank; she’s plotting to take over Hayley’s life by any means possible.

Sometimes the person you’d take the bullet for ends up being the one behind the gun. This applies to Hayley and her friends. Hayley trusted that her friends would support her choices. Instead, they turned their backs on her when she quit field hockey team to focus on studies. When people promise her something, the promises are broken. They betray and backstab her. They should think about you and themselves. But in reality they just think about themselves and make choices that they will regret.
